Rakes and cultivating tools move, lift, and gather material or debris in outdoor areas. Agricultural and garden forks are used for cleaning livestock stalls, moving garden mulch, and pitching hay. Hoes are used to cultivate soil, pull up weeds by the roots, or mix concrete. Lawn rakes can collect leaves, grass, and hay. They also can be used for loosening soil, light weeding, and leveling. Road rakes level out gravel and asphalt during roadwork. Aquatic weed-control rakes remove weeds that wash into shoreline areas of lakes and ponds. Cultivators and tillers loosen soil for gardens and pathways.
