Abrasive rolls, also known as utility rolls, handy rolls, and uncut sanding rolls, are used for polishing lathe turnings, blending machine tool marks, and removing rust or scale. They can be cut or torn to the exact size needed to provide a finish on a project, without wasting supply. Industrial rolls are available with abrasive material such as aluminum oxide for general purpose metalworking applications, and ceramic or diamond for stainless steel and other hard-to-grind metals. Abrasive roll kits include multiple rolls with various grit sizes ranging from coarse for removing material, to fine for polishing.
