The THERMACUT Group was established in 1990 as Tatras Imports Inc. in Claremont, New Hampshire. It initially sold plasma consumables through telephone sales and opened a small manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic in 1992 to produce and sell plasma consumables and torches in Eastern Europe and through distributors in Western Europe under the THERMACUT brand. In 1999, STK Gesellschaft für Schweißtechnik GmbH became a 100% shareholder of THERMACUT and it has since evolved into a major provider of plasma torches and consumables. With a close partnership with Abicor-Binzel, THERMACUT has ten sales subsidiaries worldwide and produces TIG/WIG, MIG/MAG, and Oxy-fuel products at its ISO 9001 facility.
